Mountain biking
Around the SCHLOSSANGER there are plenty of tours of varying degrees of difficulty: Whether it's a daring single trail, a relaxed tour around one of the lakes in the valley or a classic marathon route over 3 peaks, the fantastic landscape will meet every demand and every challenge. Several professional partners offer our guests the best bike equipment and perfect service. We recommend:
Hiking
Hiking trails lead directly from the alp in all directions. The options are varied and depend solely on your wishes and fitness level. A walk around the lake, a hike through ruins and a journey into the past, or a classic long-distance hiking trail of the Allgäu hiking trilogy across the panoramic views and summit worlds. You decide, depending on the day and your mood, whether you prefer a leisurely or high alpine route.
Climbing
Professional climbers will find plenty of options from the Lechtal Alps via the Tannheimer Tal to the Breitenberg with Einstein and Aggenstein. The climbing garden in Pfronten-Kappel is very exciting for beginners. Climbing courses can be booked online via Pfronten-Tourismus. In bad weather, the bouldering and climbing hall in Rieden is a very good alternative.
Swimming in the natural lakes
Guests can reach the SCHLOSSANGER pond with its pleasantly soft moor water in just 2 minutes! Also in the immediate vicinity and away from tourism: the Kögelweiher and the Allatsee, above the Weissensee. Lake Alatsee is the subject of numerous legends, guarantees cool, fresh water thanks to its great depth and has recently served as the backdrop for numerous Allgäu thrillers ... Those who prefer a royal and historical experience can swim in the Alpsee or Schwansee lakes with views of Ludwig's castles and the Tegelberg in the background.
Surfing
Just like the Ora on Lake Garda, the early morning wind on Lake Weissensee drives the surfers of the Allgäu onto the water. This is where the surf scene meets early in the morning, as soon as winter has passed. The Forggensee, which was created between 1950 and 1954 as a reservoir of the Lech, is much larger and another Eldorado for surfers.
Sailing
At over 15 square kilometers, Forggensee is the fifth largest lake in Bavaria.
There are sailing schools and moorings in almost every village on the lake. In the middle of the lake, sailors enjoy the wind and weather - and a spectacular view of Neuschwanstein Castle. The Forggensee, the head reservoir of the Lech, is drained in winter, so the sailing season is limited.
Standup paddling (SUP)
This sport was historically reserved for the kings of Hawaii and can be practiced just as privileged in the beautiful Allgäu at Bannwaldsee, Forggensee and the other waters. On a special surfboard, you actively move forward in a standing position with the help of a paddle. The stand-up board offers a completely new perspective on the beautiful surroundings. Recommendation: SUP offers various courses and tours on Lake Forggensee, the equipment is available on site.
Paragliding
Free as a bird in the sky! Soaring silently from the summit down into the valley, feeling the updrafts and chasing over the mountain tops with a few wing beats - that must be how the eagles feel. During a tandem flight with a paraglider, a specially trained pilot controls your glider. And you can "sit" at the front. High above the ground, you can let the fresh wind blow around your nose and enjoy an indescribable feeling with fascinating views! Whether you are a passenger or a student pilot, we have all the options in Pfronten and the surrounding area. Depending on the wind and weather conditions, there are launch options on the Tegelberg, Breitenberg or in the Tannheimer Valley.
Tandem jump with a parachute
A parachute jump is one of the most fascinating experiences you can have in your life. You don't have to be an adrenaline junkie to do this. The feeling of free fall and endless freedom leaves no one who has ever been skydiving or experienced a tandem skydive untouched. You can experience this thrill - as a tandem jump or solo skydive with an experienced guide. In Leutkirch, about 45 minutes away from the SCHLOSSANGER, you can get a memory for eternity.
Climbing garden and archery
In the Höllschlucht forest ropes course in Pfronten-Kappel, you balance over narrow ropes and always feel the height in your whole body when well secured ... One more step and you reach the next platform: cool, done! 11 courses with over 100 varied tasks await you. The forest ropes course also offers a further challenge with archery at 3D targets: Your gaze glides along the arrow, aiming at the target.
You can feel the tension in your muscles, in your arch. Silence ... and you let go. Are you ready?
Travel time from SCHLOSSANGER: 12 minutes
The forest ropes course is closed in winter. It usually opens at Easter and the season then runs until the end of the Bavarian fall vacations.
KönigsCard experience: 3 hours of climbing are included free of charge (per day & per person).
